Custer Lamb Company exists to bring you the finest lamb money can buy. Located in Middlebrook, VA, our katahdin sheep are raised on 100% pasture grasses and forbs. This natural diet gives the meat a richly nutritious makeup and leads to a delicious meal.
The sheep are constantly on the move to fresh pasture. Each day they move with a herd of cattle to keep the highest quality feed available leading to optimal health. These sheep never receive vaccinations or wormers and are held to a high standard of performance to be able to thrive without drugs.
Custer Lamb Company is striving for ewes that produce lots of lamb naturally and lambs that grow fast and make an unforgettable dining experience!

Meet the owner
Meet Eli Custer, owner of Custer Lamb Company. Eli’s passionate about eating high quality food and the sheep business has been a wonderful place to start. He bought 14 in 2021 and has since gown the flock to 20 ewes. Each year the flock improves due to rigid culling practices. Eli’s goal is to have a flock that is very adapted to Middlebrook and will thrive with zero drugs or extra coddling. These ewes are tough. This leads to an extremely healthy meat product in the end because the animals are so healthy when they are on the farm. Besides farming, Eli is involved with the local church and works with his family’s leadership development business, LevelUp Courses as producer of The First Cup of Joe Show podcast.
